Declarations of love to life
Hackneyed phrases are a horror to them, and the four musicians in the band Burger - named after frontman Samuel Burger - have nothing to do with obsessive humor. Instead, they live and make music according to the title of their last album: "Mängisch zart u mängisch wild". Their music is like life: sometimes sweet, sometimes rough, surrounded by abysses and unexpected horizons, never banal and boring.
"Let's be honest: life is dangerous," says one of Burger's songs. The songs tell stories that sound like declarations of love for life. Burger's songs invite you to step into the abyss and enjoy the view, so that it "echly gramselet".
For people who like to listen
After 40 years of songwriting experience and four albums, Samuel Burger and his band recently released an EP with new songs, sparsely and sensitively orchestrated and produced by Philippe Laffer (Züri West and others). Musically, the band moves between rock, folk and jazz. Burger's performances are suitable for occasions where the audience likes to listen - such as cabaret events, festivals or concerts.
