The musicians
Johanna Schaub studied cello with a focus on Swiss folk music at the Lucerne University of Music and trained at the Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg. Christoph Blum studied classical panpipes and composition at the Lucerne School of Music and in Rotterdam. For their program "zart & zäh" they received the prestigious "Jungsegler" award for cabaret in 2022.
Creative sounds with accordion and waste paper
Folk music in a new light: the duo "wilderbluescht" stage their lyrics and music with voices, instruments and everyday objects. Johanna Schaub and Christoph Blum express emotions while creating unique sounds with cello, double bass and accordion as well as waste paper and tea towels. Their music explores life in all its diversity: humorous, lively, quirky and also melancholy. Traditional yodeling sounds are also part of their repertoire and can be adapted to suit the occasion.
Superstition and mischief
Johanna Schaub and Christoph Blum use traditional Swiss song forms and motifs in their self-composed pieces. The focus is on themes such as superstition, the circle of life, lightless love and mischief. In addition, they have included new settings of traditional dance verses from the collection of folklorist Hanny Christen in their program.
