About the Trio

Maura Grassi studied singing at the Winterthur Academy for Modern Music. Her repertoire as a singer ranges from big band pieces to jazz and indie rock to current pop songs. Besides her live performances with sax piano and other formations, Maura Grassi works as a singing teacher and runs her own music school.

After completing her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, pianist Katja Zürcher continued her studies in the concert class, with various renowned pianists and at the WIAM in Winterthur. She performs in various formations, switching virtuosically between genres such as classical music, jazz, rock and pop.

Saxophonist and flutist Rolf Büschi has been playing in various combos from soul to funk to jazz as well as in big band projects since his training at the Jazz School Basel. In 2004 the duo and later trio Saxiano emerged from the "MF Mercedes Funk Band". Besides his musical engagements Rolf Büschi is working as an electrical engineer.
