The Formation
True to the motto “Nomen Est Omen,” they play the fiddle, pluck the guitar, play the accordion, and yodel.
Rainer “Fidel” Hagmann, Geri “Zupf” Zumbrunn, and Thomas “Örgeli” Aeschbacher know each other from previous band projects and make up the new trio “FidelZupfÖrgeli.” The “PLUS” stands for the wild yodeler Sonja Morgenegg.
This is where the music plays
With vocals and yodeling, violin, Schwyzerörgeli, and double bass, “FidelZupfÖrgeli PLUS” offers the best of the styles in which the three male musicians and one female musician excel: from the liveliness of folk music and folk rock to the cool groove of jazz and funk, and the directness of rock and pop. The music is light and playful, at times bold and driving, at times dreamy and soulful.
The Repertoire
The set list features lively Appenzell folk tunes, Jödeli and polyphonic, newly arranged folk songs from all over Switzerland, playful musette in the style of the “Hot Club de France,” and rousing original compositions penned by Thomas Aeschbacher and Geri Zumbrunn.
The quartet’s enthusiasm is contagious, and the audience can look forward to a lively and entertaining concert program.
