Style mix of traditional and modern folk music
"Pflanzplätz" plays a mix of traditional and modern Swiss folk music, whereby foreign folk music is not neglected. Everything is enriched with a shot of improvisation. The Schwyzerörgeli and double bass are dominant, but other instruments such as guitar, percussion, trumpet, harmonium or vocals are also used from time to time.
It is important to the three musicians to give each piece its own style, which should be different from the "Örgelimusig" that is common today. This independence is further enhanced by the joy of experimenting and playing, special original compositions and the inclusion of elements foreign to the style. The three Pflanzplätzlers enjoy playing together with other musicians, some of them from other styles.
The trio and its origin
The country music group "Echo vom Pflanzplätz" was founded in 1989 by three young musicians. The name, originally intended as a gag, remained stuck. With a few changes in personnel the style of the group has also developed further. Today the three musicians Thomas Aeschbacher, Jürg Nietlispach and Simon Dettwiler play a mix that is not only popular in folk music circles.
