From fish to music
Serve your guests a spicy musical delight between folk and jazz, played by the "Trio in Carpione". The name of the band is inspired by the "Pesce in carpione", a very special Ticino recipe used to prepare fish from Lake Maggiore, Lake Lugano and Lake Como. The three musicians transform and improvise melodies from "bella Italia" just as tastily and spice them up with poetic original compositions.
Concertante or in the background
On the one hand, the band likes to play in concert, but on the other hand it is also suitable as a musical accompaniment to your aperitif or your vernissage, your birthday or company party, be it in a private garden or in a restaurant, in a hotel, in a vineyard or by the water. The formation also performs as "Carpions" as a duo or as "Il Trio in Carpione" as a trio or possibly as a quartet (option with singer/guitarist Nadia Gabi) and has released the CD "A volte i pesci cantano" (literally: "Sometimes the fish sing").
The musicians
A new addition is the young singer/vibraphonist/percussionist Clara Zucchetti. She also plays with Sara Magoni in the duo "Le due nel cappello", in "Pie Glue" with Massimo Giuntoli and "Shamballa" with Damiano Della Torre.
Simone Mauri (bass clarinet) is the leader of the "Produzione Propria Ensemble" and the "Bootstrap Trio" and has also played with Lester Bowie, Claudio Fasoli, Gianluigi Trovesi and Gabriele Mirabassi.
Peter Zemp (accordion, double bass, etc.) plays jazz and folk with various bands ("New Azzan Big Band", "Veranda", "Trio Quatar") and composes for the "Carpione".
Nadia Gabi sang with singer-songwriters and in folk groups in Bologna (e.g. in the "Gruppo Emiliano di Musica Popolare") and performed with the Ticino band "Veranda" in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Spain.
