The band consists of six professional musicians who share a passion for the sounds of Cuba and Central America. The band members have roots in Cuba, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Morocco and Switzerland and create a cultural melange of the finest quality on stage.

With the charismatic singer Michel Valdés from Cuba as frontman, the band immediately captivates every audience. Whether it's rousing dance rhythms or relaxed Latin American sounds - their music is a guarantee for a good mood and unforgettable moments. From different styles

The Capitanes' repertoire includes salsa classics, Son Montuno by the famous percussionist Leonardo Salazar and well-known pieces from Cuba and Central America. Cumbia, cha-cha-cha, charanga, songo and rumba are also played - as well as popular Latin hits.

The sound of Los Capitanes del Son is dense, dynamic and yet clearly accentuated. The vocals are underlined by the distinctive sound of the tres cubano - an instrument derived from the guitar - accompanied by bass, trombone and numerous percussion instruments such as conga, bongo, campana, maracas and güiro.
