The performances of the musicians, who play as a trio or quartet, are true sound journeys on which listeners can hear original compositions that combine centuries-old folklore elements with modern sounds. The musicians captivate their audience with their infectious energy.
The musicians
Nicolás Mora (guitar and bandoneon) is the soul of the ensemble and an important figure in Uruguayan jazz. In 1995 he won the prize for best composer in Montevideo. With over three decades of international experience, Nicolás Mora has worked with legends such as Joe Zawinul and Paquito D'Rivera and has contributed to around 100 albums.
Manuel Contrera (piano) was born in Paris. He has worked with artists such as Rubén Rada, La Triple Nelson and David Lebón and plays a variety of styles from jazz to folk and classical music. He was the pianist of the NDR Big Band Hamburg.
Antonino Restuccia (bass, double bass), has worked with Uruguayan musicians such as Hugo Fattoruso, Osvaldo Fattoruso and Nicolás Ibarburu and is internationally active. He has released several albums as a bandleader and has worked on numerous projects.
