With accordion and waste paper
Folk music with a difference: the duo "wilderbluescht" stage their lyrics and music with voices, instruments and everyday objects. Johanna Schaub and Christoph Blum mourn, warble, gossip and dream and create unique sounds with cello, double bass and accordion, as well as waste paper, tea towels and pulses. Their music thematizes life in all its facets: sometimes funny, sometimes lively, sometimes windswept and sometimes bleak. Traditional yodel sounds are also part of the duo's repertoire - the proportion of yodel in the program can be determined individually depending on the occasion.
Of superstition and mischief
Johanna Schaub and Christoph Blum use traditional forms and motifs of Swiss song in their self-composed pieces. Themes such as superstition, the circle of life, lightless love or the Schelmentum are at the center of their work. Their program also includes new settings of traditional dance verses from the collection of folklorist Hanny Christen.
The musicians
Johanna Schaub studied cello at the Lucerne School of Music with a focus on Swiss folk music and is training at the Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg. Christoph Blum studied classical pan flute and composition at the Lucerne School of Music and in Rotterdam. For their program "zart & zääch", the duo received the "Jungsegler", a prestigious prize for cabaret, in 2022.
